The United Presbyterian Church of Morgantown, previously known as the Presbyterian Church of Morgantown, was made up of early settlers of Scotch-Irish Presbyterian background. The church developed sometime around 1788.

Description:: The United Presbyterian Church of Morgantown, previously known as the Presbyterian Church of Morgantown, was made up of early settlers of Scotch-Irish Presbyterian background. The church developed sometime around 1788.

The church was organized in 1835 on Stewart's Run in William Stewart's home. The location of church services changed to Sugar Grove in the 1840's when more church members lived their than in Stewart's Run. The first church was built in 1850. The current church building was built in 1887.
