Sketch of Charles J. Faulkner, delegate to the 1872 West Virginia Constitutional Convention. Faulkner was arrested in 1861 by the Federal authorities, while returning from France. He was in France negotiating the sale of arms to the Confederate government. Later Faulkner served on Stonewall Jackson's staff.

He served as the Secretary of Wisonsin Territory (1843-1846) and while living in Wisconsin he served as colonel of the Dane County militia from 1846-1847.  After moving to Logan, County West Virginia in 1857, he later served in the West Virginia House of Delegates (1872-1873).

After moving to Logan, County West Virginia in 1857, he later served in the West Virginia House of Delegates (1872-1873).

He served as the Secretary of Wisonsin Territory (1843-1846) and while living in Wisconsin he served as colonel of the Dane County militia from 1846-1847.  After moving to Logan, County West Virginia in 1857, he later served in the West Virginia House of Delegates (1872-1873).  His son, John B. Floyd represented Logan County, W. Va. in the West Virginia house of Delegates in 1881, in the West Virginia Senate 1883-1885, and again in the House of Delegates in 1893.
