This institution is located two miles east of Terra Alta, Preston county, on the main line of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. The local station is called Hopemont, but only local trains stop here. All passenger trains stop at Terra Alta, which is the express office. The post office is Hopemont. State route 7 passes through Hopemont. Number of patients in June 30, 1927 was 308.
