'Presenting Miss Mary Lou Bullard, Sophomore beauty from Wheeling, and MOONSHINE'S candidate for the All-American College Queen. Miss Bullard was chosen to represent West Virginia University in Paramount Pictures-Radio Guide's Contest to determine the prettiest and most talented co-ed in America, and out of the 256 entrants was chosen one of the State winners. From the forty-eight semi-finalists twelve were to be chosen by popular vote of Radio Guide's readers; and the final tally found West Virginia's Homecoming Queen amoung that number. Miss Bullard and the other finalists will be given a trip to the World Premiere of Paramount's college picture, Those Were the Days, at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, where one of the twelve will be chosen the All-American College Queen. The final winner will be given a trip to Hollywood, where she will be given a talent audition by Paramount Studios and see the Stars and the city. In addition to having been chosen West Virginia University's Homecoming Queen last Fall, Miss Bullard is a member of Li-Toon-Awa, an honorary member of Fi Batar Kappar, and belongs to Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. When she left for Galesburg on May 21st the good wishes of the campus were with her. Vive la reine!'
