Guthrie, who for nearly 30 years was head of Huntington State Hospital, his widow, Mrs. M. L. Guthrie was appointed by Governor Conley as acting superintendent of that institution, to serve until such a time as Dr. Guthrie's successor should be appointed and qualified. On December 5, 1930, W. D. McClung, M. D., for ten years superintendent of Spencer State Hospital was commissioned by Governor William G. Conley as superintendent of Huntington Hospital.
