"For your information, I believe that the picture you are offering was taken on Sept. 13th, 1910. It is of the Frank A. Robbins All Features Circus. The large elephant is named Queen which was intentionally poisoned after the season in the winter quarters in Jersey City, NJ. She had trampled her keeper Robert Shields the day before. I have written the story of the Frank A. Robbins circuses from 1881-1915. The 1910 season is covered in the May June issue of "Bandwagon" the official publication of the Circus Historical Society."
