Caption on back reads 'Coke Ovens, Steam rises from the quenching tower of the new by-product coke battery at the Lorain, Ohio, works of U.S. Steel's National Tube Division. Coke production has been doubled with the instalation of three new batteries of 59 ovens each. Other improvements at Lorain include enlargment and installation of coal and coke handling facilities, numerous changes in the equipment for recovery of coal chemicals, and a coal and coke laboratory.
