'An architect's scale of the proposed Basic Sciences Building in West Virginia University's new Medical Center. Also shown is the location, to the right, of the proposed teaching hospital, which will be planned initially to contain 400 beds. The Basic Sciences Building, for which ground is to be broken soon, will be five stories in height and contain more than 1,000 rooms. Its functions will be to house facilities for instruction in the pre-clinical years in medicine, nursing and supporting fields, as well as the full program in dentistry and pharmacy. Architects for the Center are C.E. Silling and Associates, Charleston. West Virginia University Bureau of Information--for use September 5, 1954 and thereafter.'

'High school students from all parts of West Virginia began registering at the University Medical Center yesterday afternoon for the State Science Fair, in progress through tomorrow morning.  The young scientists are among 300 high school students exhibiting science projects and presenting research papers. Exhibits will be open for public inspection at the Med Center from 9 to 11 a.m. tomorrow (April 15).  The Science Fair is sponsored by the West Virginia Academy of Science, meeting simultaneously with the high school representatives.'
