He and Bill George struck by lighting and were killed. Attended Davis Military School, Winston-Salem, N.C. and Georgia M. Academy." In book: " John Prince Beckley, architect and merchant son of John Beckley (son of General Alfred Beckley), and brother of Mrs. Betty Beckley Campbell, was killed by lightning in June of 1900 together with William "Bill" George" (p. 363).
